NEVADA ACADEMIC CONTENT STANDARDS

The 8th Grade Math Curriculum is set forth in the Nevada Academic Content Standards 

There are Five Strands or Areas, all interrelated: 

• The Number System (Arithmetic)
• Expressions and Equations (Algebra) 
• Functions (Analysis)
• Geometry and
• Statistics and Probability  

The focus of the curriculum is on Problem Solving and is set forth to nurture what is  known as

21st Century Skills:

• Communication Skills
• Collaboration Skills
• Critical Thinking Skills, and
• Creativity
